BBYF CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY
BBYF Code of Conduct Policy
The Bridgewater Badgers requires that the following Code of Conduct shall apply to ALL PARTICPANTS in our programs. This includes players, coaches, board of directors, volunteers and parents in attendance at games, practices or events
The Bridgewater Badgers shall in all instances related thereunto be guided by the core values of SAFETY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and FAIR PLAY. All participants are expected to exhibit behavior that adheres to these core values at all times, in any activity or situation that is related to Bridgewater Badgers.
PLAYERS:
Violations for players shall include but are not limited to:
The use of alcohol or tobacco or illegal drugs on or off the field
Misuse of Bridgewater Youth Football Association, Inc. equipment
Profanity or inappropriate language
Taunting, hazing or any other degrading activity
Arguing or showing disrespect to football officials or coaches
Violations of the above may result in a verbal and/or written warning (1st offense); suspension (2nd offense); and/or expulsion (3rd offense)
ADULTS:
At any Bridgewater Badgers event, practice or competition, any adult who: 1) verbally abuses; 2) attempts to intimidate; 3) is flagrantly rude; 4) cannot control their language or actions with an official, coach, player, volunteer or fellow parent, will be asked to leave that event. He or she will receive a written warning regarding their behavior. In addition, his or her child(ren) will be immediately removed from that Bridgewater Badger event.
Any adult who commits a second, similar offense that is pursuant to a preceding offense during the same season, will be banned from attending Bridgewater Badgers events for the remainder of that season. In addition, the offending adults child(ren) may be barred from participating for the remainder of the season. If this should occur, Bridgewater Youth Football will refund registration monies pro-rated based on the percentage of the season remaining.
Any adult who physically assaults an official, coach, player, fellow parent or volunteer will be banned from Bridgewater Badgers participation and their child removed from participation for one full calendar year from the date of the offense. Upon the culmination of the 1-year suspension, parents may reapply for re-instatement of their child(ren). If the adult commits a subsequent offense, he or she will be permanently banned from participating in Bridgewater Badgers youth football with no opportunity for appeal.
The term physical assault includes, but is not limited to: hitting, striking, slapping, pushing, spitting, kicking or striking in any way with any part of the body or the usage of any physical implement as a weapon.
Parents/fans are prohibited from being on the playing field/sidelines during practice/games unless they are a coach appointed volunteer serving a specific purpose.
Failure to pick-up your child in a timely manner after any BBYF practice, game or event may result in board review for disciplinary action.
The board of directors and/or a board-appointed investigatory subcommittee may review any Code of Conduct infractions, violations or incidences as outlined above. All suspensions and/or expulsions will be at the sole discretion of the board of directors. Head Coaches may give recommendations for punishment or sanctions for players who commit a first-offense violation or infraction of the Code of Conduct.
I hereby acknowledge that I have received and read the Bridgewater Badgers Code of Conduct and by signing it agree to abide by it.
A copy of this form must be maintained on file with the Bridgewater Youth Football Association, Inc. Board of directors during the course of the season it pertains to. Head coaches must also maintain a copy of all signed Code of Conduct forms, for each player on their roster, for the course of the season. Any violation of the Bridgewater Badgers Code of Conduct may be subject to executive board review and/or may result in disciplinary action including suspension or expulsion from Bridgewater Badgers participation. Any player charged with violating the Code of Conduct shall be given full course of due process if he or she so chooses. Players and their parents have the right to request a meeting with Bridgewater Badgers officials about any situation they feel merits review or discussion.
All parents/guardians agree to abide by the Bylaws of the OCYFL [s3.amazonaws.com] and the Bridgewater Badgers Youth Football Association Bylaws. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the league. Any complaints or concerns may be addressed through the Bridgewater Badgers League Representative.
